Our Executive Chef: Kai Koroll
Kai Koroll is the creative genius behind our regional seasonal restaurant BLOCK ONE and the entire culinary program at 50th Parallel Estate. Chef Kai brings his unique talents to the kitchen, executing incredible dishes for both the restaurant and our special events. We welcome you to take in the amazing plates that Chef Kai prepares with local ingredients, many of which are sourced from our one-acre of culinary gardens. The focal point in the outdoor dining area is our wood-fired forno stage which is centred in the heart of the restaurant framed by black granite and knotty alder barnboard bar. Our menu is centred on dishes designed to be cooked in the high heat of our beautiful Woodstone oven, which creates amazing aromas and incredible flavours that can only be built in wood-fire.
The ONE dining experience that you surely will not want to miss is at 50th Parallel Estate Winery. The name BLOCK ONE represents the first vineyard planted in 2009 and is very special to Proprietors Sheri-Lee and Curtis. “It taught us to be farmers; to be ONE with the land. There are things we will never experience again. That vineyard block represents the past – the starting point, getting our hands dirty, all the ‘firsts’ of our business”.
BLOCK ONE also represents the future as this vineyard block now produces some of the estate’s finest fruit for our international award-winning wines. Guests will be amazed by the seating area for the outdoor portion of the restaurant.
You are covered by an engineering wonder above in a one-of-a-kind cantilever that has won international design awards for architecture. The year-round restaurant moves to an equally impressive indoor space during the winter months.
We encourage you to make a reservation before arrival as the restaurant is typically very busy.
